Grape Smoothie

Hello guys, how have you been this past weekend?
Continuing with our September smoothie festival, our fruit for today is GRAPES! It is the most famous September fruit especially in towns on High Mountain like my hometown.

Many people avoid grapes thinking it contains a lot of sugar, not knowing that not all sugars are the same. Contrary to normal sugar, the sugar in grapes actually  protects against some diabetic diseases and many studies has shown that consuming grapes can reduce the risk of 2 types of diabetes.

You can consume grapes in endless ways, from picking it right from the tree to drinking it with fish and meat and on the beach as wine.
Now that last one isn’t that much healthy but still very tasty: P


Back to our tasty but healthy choices of grapes consumption: Smoothies.

Grapes contain powerful antioxidants known as polyphenols, which may slow or prevent many types of cancer.
Eating foods that are high in water content like grapes, watermelon and cantaloupe can help keep you hydrated. These fruits help keep your bowel movements regular. Grapes also contain fiber, which is essential for minimizing constipation. And its high content of fiber helps relieve heat and cure indigestion and irritations in the stomach.

Eating grapes can also help keep your iron and minerals levels balanced in the body and in that way avoiding fatigue and keeping your energy up. Drinking grape juice can give you an instant energy boost.
Drinking red wine is often a cause of migraines, ironically ripe grape juice is an important home remedy for curing migraines.

And I read many studies about the role of grapes in weight loss. The resveratrol found in grapes works on the body in two ways to assist with weight loss:
1- It reduces cells’ ability to store fat
2- Causes fat cells to disintegrate at a higher rate than normal.

Now for this easy smoothie recipe and for a better options just freeze the ingredients the night before, add some extra ingredients, pour it all in the blender the next morning, and keep your energy screaming “up, up, and awayyy”

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup frozen white grapes
  • 1 apple pealed
  • ½ frozen banana
  • ¾ tbsp. chia seed soaked in water (for more infor on chia seeds benefits )
  • ¼ tsp. cinnamon
  • ½ tbsp. honey
  • ½ tbsp. coconut butter ((for more infor on coconut butter )
  • ¾ cup water

Instructions:

Pour all ingredients in blender, and mix on high speed till smooth, serve and enjoy!
