Anna Daou Fenianos

Hello, and welcome to my page!

My name is Anna, I am an architect and a BIG fan of FOOD (Well… Who isn’t?!).

As a kid, I was considered as a tomboy. I was a very active girl who would run with the boys, and climb trees with her brothers. After high school, I got in to architecture school. With all the stress, overnights, and due projects, I had no time to exercise or cook so I stuck to eating junk food and ordering in. I gained a lot of weight and I even started having back problems. My doctor recommended that I should exercise and take care of myself or my health problems will only get worse.

I took his advice and started CrossFit training. From that moment on, CrossFit became a big passion of mine. I can’t imagine missing a session.

As for the cooking part of my life, and while I am not an expert or a professional dietitian, I have a long history and experience with the so called “diet experts”. I have been a victim to many scams and I was very frustrated that I decided to take matters in to my own hands by developing my own cooking skills.

I spent countless nights researching and reading to find the many ways to do one recipe and then pick the best. I mixed and matched in a way to eliminate everything that is NOT healthy or could be healthier. All of that while maintaining a DELICIOUS taste. I tried; I failed, tried again, and again, until I got it! My love for cooking, fitness, and staying healthy pushed me to start this blog. I wanted to cook healthy and yet delicious food and share my experience with as many people as I can.

Come cook with me as we embark on this culinary adventure towards a better, healthier, and HAPPIER version of ourselves!

The recipes featured on this blog are a result of many researches, attempts, failure, other attempts, until repeated success!!

The purpose of this blog is NOT to promise a weight loss of 10 Kgs in 3 weeks, nor is it to claim that if you eat lettuce all day, you will wake up skinny! Instead, the purpose of this blog is to give a more realistic look on how to make simple and easy changes in your food cupboard that will enable you to sustain a healthy lifestyle on the long run while treating yourself to delicious food, and without having to cut out all the “goodies” from your diet. The number you see on the scale does NOT define who you are, and most importantly, it doesn’t say if you are healthy or not. For example, my weight is still the same as before I started my healthy lifestyle, but people around me have noticed the difference and think I have lost around 10 Kgs.

I propose to you an alternative lifestyle, with ingredients that are very easy to find, to make from scratch, or just cheaper. It was one of the main issues I had to deal with while doing my research, some of these ingredients posted on blogs and websites are either hard to find, or very expensive.

I would like to thank everyone who has helped, and inspired me in this journey for a better me.
