Body Boosting Smoothie

This smoothie is absolutely one of my favorites. I won’t lie they all are my sweet babies but this one is the one I love the most.

When it’s midweek, I start feeling sloppy and sleepy, and tired from work so I need something to refresh me a little bit, something to give me that sugar rush energy but without devouring a box of chocolate. Long story short, I came up with this amazing, fresh, tasteful and creamy smoothie.

Let us talk about the ingredients for a second, so you know why it is called a “body boosting smoothie”!

Pomegranate!

Another great red fruit of this season, that contains lots of benefits for the body.

Pomegranates are an antioxidant-rich super food. They have impressive anti-inflammatory effects. They help fight many kind of cancer especially prostate cancer. They help fight arthritis and joints pain. They help lower the blood pressure and heart diseases. And they have a similar role as the beetroot juice in helping improving exercise performance.

Moving on to the kiwi, it is packed with vitamin c more than the same amount of orange with a very lower amount of calories. Kiwi contains a great protein-dissolving enzyme that can help in your digestion just like bromelain in pineapple and papain in papaya. It helps manage blood pressure and boosts your immunity. The low glycemic index of the kiwi and the high fiber content doesn’t help in creating an insulin rush like other fruit with high sugar content and so the body will not respond by storing fat and the high fiber content will help clean out toxins from your body. The list goes on and on.

Actually if I want to talk about each and every ingredient in this recipe, I will not finish anytime soon, because it is a super smoothie that contains the healthiest beneficial fruits and ingredients of all time.

From lemon, to almond milk, to banana to cranberry, I will need more than just one post to talk about all those. So we will come back to those later.

Now, briefly, this smoothie is a great energy/immunity booster for those long midweek days with sweet taste and great texture, you won’t even feel that you are eating healthy! 😛 some people seem to have a fear of doing so ! 😛

Ingredients:

  • 1 kiwi fruit
  • 1 lemon peeled
  • 1 banana
  • ¼ cup pomegranate seeds
  • 1 tsp. chia seeds.
  • ¾ cup almond milk.
  • ¼ cup cranberry organic juice.

Instructions:

Pour all ingredients in blender, and mix on high speed till smooth, serve and enjoy!
