Melon Smoothie

This time of year, the melon is perfectly ripe. It tastes sweet and great for smoothies.

In most smoothies we use banana or avocado as a base, for its creamy texture, and it is kind of boring to use the same ingredients all the time, no matter how much you love it! So for a change, Melon is a great base for your smoothie to achieve that creamy texture and keep your smoothie routine exciting.

Anyway, back to the melon now! Beside its super deliciously sweet taste that can make any smoothie yummy! Melon has so many health benefits. Melons, in this case I used the cantaloupe melon , are a rich source of vitamins  like A,C and B. they are a great source of copper and potassium and also provides good levels of magnesium, iron and zinc.

With the other ingredients I added, this smoothie is a perfect combination of great taste and lots of benefits for your body. It is the perfect way to start your day fresh.

Serve 1

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup melon
  • ½ cup almond milk
  • ½ cup aloe Vera juice
  • 1 Tbsp. Honey
  • 1 Tbsp. coconut flakes.*

Instructions:

  • Add all the ingredients in the blender and pulse on high speed until smoothie texture is formed (approx. 3 minutes)
  • And that’s it! Enjoy

Serving Size: 1 smoothie • Calories: 187 • Fat: 4 g • Carbs: 40 g • Fiber: 8 g • Protein: 2 g

* You can substitute the coconut flakes with coconut oil.
