Mediterranean Tuna Wrap

I always try to make recipes with ingredients that are known by everyone.

That even women who hate cooking, can be encouraged and easily do. Sure I recommend some super-food that you need to invest in but I promise you, it will be worth it!

Buying one jar of organic coconut oil/year is never a bad investment.

Anyway back to our recipe, this recipe is easy, simple, and perfect for dinner and lunch. Personally, I recommended for dinner.

It is always better to have a nighttime meal that is higher in fat – the good fats of course – , moderate in protein, and low in carbs.

Dinner time is definitely the time to have your salad and veggies along with some protein and healthy fats. Increasing your fat at night helps with your hormone production while you sleep, keeps you satisfied so you don’t get hungry, and allows you to sleep better through the night.

When we say increasing your fat I’m not talking about devouring a double cheeseburger so you sleep better, you won’t! 😛

I am talking about GOOD fats like AVOCADO!

Our recipe today is the typical perfect healthy dinner with good fats, a big amount of protein and veggies!

For this wrap, I used the traditional flat Arabic bread “SAJ”.

This whole dinner idea happened in a lightbulb moment at my friend’s house, where I can find normal ingredients that she usually keeps in her pantry. I had to come up with a healthy dinner from ingredients in this pantry.

She had a pack of “Saj” bread- lucky for me- made from oat flour and without any additive or sugar.

Saj bread is a type of flat bread very common in our country. It is baked on a convex metal grill known as SAJ, thus the name “Saj bread.”

It is usually about 60 cm diameter circle and very thin almost transparent. The same quantity of dough used for normal flat bread is stretched out to do this big flat bread; this is why it is a healthy choice to use it instead of the normal thick small one. Which means: more wraps with less calories intake from bread.

In another way for the same amount of filling, you need 2 loaf of “saj” but if you wanna wrap it in normal flat bread or toast you will need double and triple the quantity of bread.

Check the ingredients, head to your pantry right now, and I am sure you will find all of it just sitting there waiting for you to eat!

“Saj” Bread, avocado, tuna, lettuce, tomato and some pesto and you are done!

So simple and easy to do as well as being so delicious, moist, and full of flavors.
