Anti-Stress Smoothie

Finally Sunday is here! I had the longest week ever, coming from a long summer holiday I was overloaded with work. Working 18 out of 24 hours a day, the weekend wouldn’t come fast enough!!!

All stressed out, today I finally slept in a little bit. The best way to recover is with a late anti-stress breakfast smoothie full of vitamins and nutrition straight from the fresh fruits and raw nuts of this season.

How I love September!

I started my smoothie with avocado, one of the top anti-anxiety and stress reducing ingredients.

I added another high omega-3 food; walnuts which are a great source of melatonin that helps regulate sleep and fight anxiety and stress. What is even better is that I picked them fresh right from the tree next door!  I love my hometown garden!

Continuing with the nuts of the season, I added a handful of raw fresh pistachio, for it great role in reducing the body’s response to the stresses of everyday life.

And for improving my mood even more, I added a banana! Yes, bananas are not only for monkeys. Bananas are very powerful full of nutrition fruits. Eating a banana daily regulates blood sugar and produce stress-relieving relaxation.

To add more yummy taste and an anti-oxidant source I added a small prickly pear or “Indian fig” to my smoothie and Voilà!

Don’t panic from the high fat content of this smoothie. Remember not all “fats” are created equal. These are the good guys, eat them with pleasure.
